アクセサリーブランド KOTSU KOTSU様のコンセプトブックの制作に携わりました。
海外展開を考慮して ブランドコンセプトやプロフィールなど、日本語で書かれたコピーの
英訳を担当させていただいてます。

昔の見本帳に綴じられたボタンや、着古したお気に入りの洋服をひっそりと飾るボタン。
それらは宝石よりも私を惹きつける素材。ひとつずつ集めながら見つけながら、
組み合わせて、重ねて、新しい命を刺していく。

These buttons are from an old sample collection I had tucked away,
including some I had adorned from my favorite worn-out clothes. They
fascinate me more than any jewels or precious gems. As I find, collect,
and combine each piece one by one, I bring them new life.

アトリエの光の中で、ライトの下でコツコツ。ひとつの作品に1000個のボタンを刺すことも。
気に入らなくて、ほどいたり、刺したり、またほどいたり。
自分らしい何かに向き合うには、いつもちょっと覚悟がいる。

Working beneath the lights of the studio, I sometimes put 1,000 buttons
into one piece of work. If I don’t love it, I unwind, and re-stich again
and again. It takes a great deal out of me in order to bring forth a
quality I can call “my own.”

「可愛らしい」けれど「子供っぽくない」。「派手すぎない」のに「インパクトがある」。
そんなテイストが基本。お行儀よく並ぶのをやめたボタンたちは、
驚くほど自由に大胆に、イメージの扉を開いてくれる。

Cute, but not childish. Not too gaudy, yet impactful. These are my basic
tastes. The disarray of buttons will boldly open a door to the imagery
I’ve always envisioned.
